Cedarwood Ontario supplies full dimension pine boards in true inches — 2x4, 2x6, 2x8, and 2x10. Unlike standard dressed lumber from big box stores, our boards are cut to the stated size, giving you more material and more strength for your project. Small and large orders available across Ontario and Canada.
What Does "True Inches" Mean?
Standard dressed lumber is planed down after cutting — a "2x4" from a hardware store is actually 1.5" x 3.5". Our full dimension boards are rough cut to the stated size, so a 2x4 is a true 2 inches by 4 inches. More material, more strength, better value.
When Do You Need Full Dimension Lumber?
Full dimension lumber is required or preferred in situations where the stated size actually matters:
- Barn and agricultural construction — Traditional barn framing uses true-size lumber for maximum load capacity
- Timber framing and post & beam — Joinery and mortise-and-tenon connections require exact dimensions to fit properly
- Matching existing structures — Older buildings were built with true-size lumber; repairs and additions need to match
