What is ISPM-15 and Why Does It Matter for Military Shipping?
ISPM-15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15) is the global standard governing wood packaging material used in international trade. Any wood dunnage, crating, or pallets used in cross-border shipments — including military and defence cargo — must be heat treated to a core temperature of 56°C for a minimum of 30 continuous minutes and bear the official HT stamp.
Failure to use compliant wood packaging can result in shipment delays, quarantine, or rejection at the border — unacceptable in time-sensitive defence logistics.
